This is our new 2500 gallon indoor growing on pond. We started the build in December 2008 and have worked on it every week end until finished in April 2009.
The pond is constructed from timber with the roof (which is polycarb) and sides of the fish house built into the pond to make it one complete structure. The pond and filter have a box weld liner and has an aerated bottom drain which runs to an easy pod (for mechanical filtration) and then to a fluidised k1 section. There is a small section at the end of the bio section containing trays of lithaqua.
The skimmer has a Power Bead 85 filter and both returns tee into one over the top aerated return.
Heating is from a heat exchanger piped to the existing oil fired heating system for both the main ponds. There is also an automatic fan extractor system to remove excess hot air and an automatic water top up system.
