Well it doesn't seem like five mintutes since were sat at the last AGM and voting to hold our very first Koi Show! And here we are, 12 months on and what has been a fantastic year for the EMKC. We will start the meeting with a review of the years activities and events, here reports from the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, then vote on the committee members for the new year. This is your chance to have a say in to how the club is run and to put forward any ideas you may have for the coming year.
East Pennine Show 2009...
5th June 2009
This weekend 4 of the EMKC members, Mushio, Daz, Dave Pope and Paul Williams will be heading off to the 2009 East Pennine Koi Show. The show is held at Elsecar Heritage Centre and is always a great show packed full of quality koi, great dealers and craft stands and much more. Let's hope that our members showing this weekend have a good show and pick up a few awards. Also it would be great if we could have lots of us attending the show and giving it our full support, so if you can come along on one of the days then please do so.

Richdon Koi Does It Again...
4th June 2009
Richdon Koi stuns us yet again with another great gesture for our club. Upon Richard Jones impromptu trip to Japan this month, Rich announces that the breeder from Aoki had generously given him a super little Goshiki. Rich being one of our clubs biggest supporters has decided to donate this amazing gift to the EMKC in order for us to put it towards fund raising for our up and coming Winter Show. A big thank you must go to Aoki and to Richdon for this very kind offer and we will be announcing shortly what we doing with this koi in order to raise funds for the show. One thing for sure, who ever ends up with this cracking little Goshiki will be a very happy koi keeper.
Grow & Show Weekend
30th May 2009
Members gathered at Richdon Koi, eagerly awaiting their turn to select koi for the club’s annual grow and show competition. The chosen variety for this year’s competition was Sanke from Richdon’s Exclusive Breeder. And with 44 fantastic looking tosai Sanke to choose from there was plenty of choice for everyone, not matter where you were in the picking order. Everyone who selected koi on the day were blown away by the quality of the koi and we can't wait to see how they have developed after kindly being grown on by Richdon for a few months. This will be the most evenly fought grow and show contest to date with any one of a number of koi capable of winning this year. Keep your eyes peeled for a full article of the grow and show competition in the Koi Magazines!
