After taking a year out the East Pennine Show was back with a bang for 2009. They had increased the number of vats this year to accommodate the demand from exhibitors and it proved well worth it. The quality of koi on display at this show was fantastic and possibly the best I have seen at a show outside of the BKKS National. There were no less than seven large koi all competing for the title of Grand Champion, with the eventual winner being John Hellens from the North East Koi Club with his superb size 7 Kohaku. It is great to see the East Pennine show back on the calendar and lets hope this show continues to go from strength to strength.
